Here’s everything you need to know about Ahn’Kahet in Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
If you get the Wrath of the Lich King Classic expansion for World of Warcraft, one of the most important things you’ll do is explore the many dungeons. There are a lot of them, and each one has its own set of rules that you have to follow. So, our Ahn’Kahet dungeon guide will cover everything about the dungeon, especially if you’re doing it for the first time.
This is one of the earlier dungeons in terms of level, and it comes right after Azjol-Nerub. There are spiders and other creepy things in here, but we’ll make it.

Ahn’Kahet dungeon guide
Spiders are waiting for you when you enter the dungeon. Kill the first two enemies as you go down the ramp. Then you can try to kill one of the spiders that are patrolling and climb the stairs.
Now, there are two ways you can get to the first boss. We suggest going left, hugging the left wall until you get to the stairs, then hugging the right wall until you get to the first boss.
Elder Nadox is the first boss. During this fight, Nadox will call up two different kinds of adds. Ahn’kahar Guardians and Ahn’Kahar Swarmer. Because Nadox will use his skills, you should deal with these quickly.
He will first use a spell called Brood Plague to spread a disease. This can and should be cleaned. The other power is called “Brother Rage,” and it makes all Swarmers angry.
Guardians should be dealt with right away because they have a skill called “Guardian Aura” that protects all Nerubians around them from damage. The swarmers should then be cut in half.
After killing the boss, go through the left door and down the stairs. When you get to the next big open room, hug the right wall and wait for the Bonegrinder in the middle to move to the left. Kill any geists that come up and run up the web ramp.
Click the orb to eliminate the adverts. Do the same thing for the next overpass. Then you’ll need to wait for the right Bonegrinder to walk up the ramp, then kill it when it does. The next boss is up the ramp.
You can easily tank and hit Prince Taldaram, but he has four abilities that you’ll have to deal with.
- Fire Sphere
- Blood Thirst
- Embrace of the Vampyr
The most important thing to watch out for in this fight is the Vanish ability. When he comes back to a player, he will cast “Embrace of the Vampyr,” which will stun the player and take some of their health.
It lasts for 20 seconds or until he takes 40,000 points of damage. You should have gone after him right away and destroyed him as quickly as possible. If not, this narrative concludes.
After that, go down the small hallway to the boss’s left. From this point on, you can choose which boss you want to fight. Although it’s optional, you may face a hidden boss in order to complete the dungeon.
After that, we’ll talk about that boss. Go to the left side of the room and down the ramp on the left. After killing some swamp cave monsters, you’ll come across the secret boss.
When the fight starts, Amanitar will call two different kinds of mushrooms to the field. We’ll talk about them after a while. There are a few easy skills to take care of.
- Entangling Roots
- Venom Bolt Volley
The first three skills are pretty basic, so there isn’t much to say about them. The Mini skill is the real trick. All players will shrink, and their damage will be cut by 75%. Everyone should gather around one of the Healthy Mushrooms and kill it when this happens.
As soon as you kill it, the mini buff will go away. Poisonous Mushrooms only give off a poison dot, so try to stay away from them if you can.
After killing this boss, go back up the ramp and kill the extras on the left side of the room as well as the Twilight Initiates on the platform to get to the next boss.
Jedoga Shadowseeker is going to be our next boss. She has three easy skills and one that you should watch out for.
- Lightning Bolt
- Cyclone Strike
- Twilight Ascendance
Twilight Ascendance is the most important skill to worry about. When Jedoga’s health is at 50%, she will ask a Twilight Volunteer to come to her to be sacrificed. The add will walk up to the pool of water, and if it gets to her, it will be sacrificed, giving Jedoga the Gift of the Herald.
This buff gives her a 200% boost to the damage she does for 20 seconds. Everyone should switch to Twilight Ascendance as soon as it comes out. After that, just kill the boss and you’ll be done.
After killing the boss, you can either go back up the side you came in on or go to the other side and kill the extra enemies. You will need to go to the web platform on the right side of the stairs you came up. Kill the three people you forgot about and get ready for the last boss.
Herald Volazj, who works for Yogg-Saron, is the last boss. In this fight, he has four skills that he can use.
- Mind Flay
- Shadow Bolt Volley
- Shiver (Curse)
Both Mind Flay and Shadow Bolt Volley are easy to deal with. Shiver is a curse, and the player should try to get rid of it. The only unique skill here is insanity.
When it is used, each player will see their allies as ghosts. This player will stay in that state until they kill those hallucinations, at which point they can go back to fighting the boss.
The DPS and tank will find this much easier, but healers should have some damage-dealing spells in their spellbooks that they should use here.
So, that’s the jail! As we’ve already said, you’ll run into this dungeon early on in the expansion, so it’s neither very long nor hard. Keep an eye on our other Wrath Classic dungeon guides as well.
