The Maltese basketball team Depiro BC signed 7’1″ giant Kameron Rooks on Friday. He is the first player they have signed for the summer.
Rooks, who is from the United States and is now 27 years old, was most recently with the German club Chiemgau Baskets in the Bayernliga, which is a league in the German state of Bayern. There, he was both a player and an assistant coach for the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 teams.
Before this, Rooks played for the California Golden Bears and the San Diego State Aztecs in Division One of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He was also on the roster of the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA Development League in 2018. These teams are part of the G-League. His father Shaun worked as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers until he died in 2016.
